Job summary

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator 1 to provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 12 years total experience, 5+ years as a SA, and DoD 8570-M IAT II certification; TS/SCI Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required.
• In lieu of a degree, 12 years total experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Five (5) years’ experience as a SA in programs of similar scope is required.
• DoD 8570.01-M with IAT Level II certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for IT systems.
• Manages IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Performs day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Configures and manages Windows and UNIX operating systems; troubleshoots and implements OS enhancements for reliability and performance.
• Communicates escalation status to agency management and internal customers.
• Supports the dispatch system and hardware issues and participates in resolution.

Job description

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator 1 to provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provides support to IT systems including day‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
• Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Needs a good understand of Windows and Linux as an end user
• Clearance Required: TS/SCI Poly
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, five (5) additional years of work‑related experience may be substituted for a total of twelve (10) years.
• Minimum Years of Experience: Five (5) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Required Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAT Level II is required.
