Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • 1 year of project/program management experience is required.
  • 1 year of coordinating, facilitating, or leading cross-functional teams is required.
  • Ability to obtain Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification within 1 year of hire is required.

Responsibilities

  • Administering and maintaining enterprise servers, networks, communication systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain server operating systems and software.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise backup, recovery, and data-protection strategies.
  • Support network and infrastructure installations, relocations, configurations, and repairs at local and remote sites.
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve system efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, equipment inventories, configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on projects, upgrades, capacity planning, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Provide responsive technical support, including rotating 24x7 on-call coverage.

Overview

The Systems Administrator will play an important role in maintaining and modernizing the County's enterprise technology infrastructure. This hands‑on position will support servers, networks, communications systems, security, backups, and related infrastructure while working closely with IT teams and business partners. A major upcoming initiative is replacing the County's network access and wireless infrastructure. The selected technology vendor is Juniper Networks, with the implementation centered on Juniper Mist. The Systems Administrator will contribute to planning, deployment, configuration, migration, troubleshooting, and ongoing administration of this next‑generation network environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with enterprise networking technologies, participating in large‑scale infrastructure projects, solving complex technical problems, and helping modernize technology services. The role combines project work, hands‑on infrastructure support, system administration, and ongoing operational responsibilities in a collaborative IT environment. The Information Technology Department delivers reliable, innovative, and impactful technology solutions while serving as a trusted technology partner to the organization. Work Schedule & Expectations
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • This position requires at least 3 in-office days per week, based on team and business needs.
  • On-site work will occur at 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins, CO.
  • Requires rotating 24/7 on-call support for emergency repairs and critical system issues.
  • Weekend, after-hours, or emergency work may be required as part of the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required. Employees may also be required to work during a declared local emergency or disaster.
Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Administering and maintaining enterprise servers, networks, communication systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations.

  • Providing responsive technical support, including rotating 24x7 on-call coverage, while minimizing disruption to County operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • One (1) year of project management and/or program management experience required.
  • One (1) year of coordinating, facilitating, and/or leading cross‑functional teams required.
  • Ability to obtain Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification within one (1) year of hire date required.
  • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work anywhere in the County as needed and required.
