HM Cragg is seeking an IT System Administrator in Eden Prairie to support planning, installation, and operation of network and cloud servers, storage, and related systems. You will handle AD/365, backups, security, and disaster recovery while collaborating with the IT Director.

The role requires 2+ years in system/network administration, knowledge of routers/switches, and experience with SSO/MFA techs, aiming for reliable, secure IT operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in system and network administration.
  • 1+ years' experience in database manipulation and use of development tools.
  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with networking infrastructure including routers and switches is required.
  • Strong knowledge of SSO and MFA technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day performance of server systems including on-site and cloud servers.
  • Administer server software updates/patches and security services.
  • Manage LAN/WAN/Wireless networks across multiple facilities and troubleshoot issues.
  • Benchmark, analyze, and optimize system and network performance.
  • Ensure security, intrusion prevention, event/log management, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Document standards, processes, and procedures for the network.
  • Assist in budget data, usage metrics, and future IT planning with IT Manager.
  • Maintain safety policies and support IT team objectives.

Job description

Position Overview:

The IT System Administrator will support and participate in the planning, installation, maintenance, and operation of network and cloud servers, server operating systems, server software, storage systems, telephone and internet systems, backups, routers, switches, and wiring. In addition, the role will be responsible for some database and development duties.

Reporting Relationship:

The IT System Administrator reports to the IT Director.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the overall day to day performance of server systems including on-site and cloud server operating systems, and Windows local and Azure Active Directory
  • Responsible for administration of server software updates/patches, including anti-virus and web-filtering services
  • Responsible for the overall day to day performance of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Wireless Network in multiple facilities
  • Responsible for troubleshooting system and network problems and optimizing performance
  • Responsible for the benchmarking, analysis, and continual optimization of system and network performance
  • Responsible for the security of the entire network, including intrusion prevention/detection and event/log management
  • Responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity network best practices
  • Responsible for the documentation of standards, processes and procedures of the network
  • Perform maintenance on all network related equipment as needed
  • Track problems and document resolutions related to network infrastructure
  • Regularly review and remediate event and log entries from network devices
  • Managing all network related service and support, including maintenance and service agreements
  • Responsible for the purchasing of network related equipment and servers
  • Keep up-to-date with technology in this field
  • Work with IT Manager to provide data for annual budget planning, system usage and future IT planning
  • Be cooperative, positive and respectful with management, coworkers and team
  • Adherence to all current, approved Information Security policies including appropriate handling of Confidential and Internal data
  • Participate in annual Information Security training as well as topic specific training based on the sensitivity of data accessed.

Posting Qualifications:

  • Superior working knowledge of SSO and MFA technologies
  • Experience with networking infrastructure including routers and switches is a requirement
Travel expectations:
  • Occasional travel to other HM Cragg facilities as required
