Job description

The Configuration Manager focuses on supporting the development and use of data systems. The CM will provide troubleshooting analysis to ensure the proper operation and performance of customer products and services. The role supports task related to the CDRL and other documentation preparation and submittals. The role provides configuration management planning and shall have a working knowledge in administration, management, and control of engineering data, artifacts, and storage/retrieval repositories, and related Configuration Management and Systems Engineering processes and tools. The CM tracks development and changes of products throughout the system or Contract lifecycle. Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.

This position is contingent upon contract award, and employment will begin upon successful award and authorization to proceed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Develop data management strategies; identify all pertinent sources of and uses for configuration management data.
  • Conduct initiatives and research to develop and establish configuration management guidelines, best practices and standards into new CMMI configuration management processes.
  • Assess the impacts of the configuration management change process on lifecycle sustainment.
  • Participate in government and industry teams in the resolution of complex configuration management issues.
  • Work closely with other IT engineering and operations teams in support of the software development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Identify, organize, and control software and hardware configuration changes.
  • Identify and coordinate processes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management.
  • Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate of Science Degree in engineering or technical diplomas with at least 4 years of relevant technical experience or a non-technical Bachelor’s Degree with at least 6 years of relevant technical experience, or at least 10 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with configuration and change management process and documentation
  • Atlassian tools experience (i.e. Jira and Confluence)
  • Knowledge with interpretation of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
  • Highly proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Possess the ability to gain a DOD security clearance; Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • Knowledge of the product flow encompassing software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment, and logging
  • Knowledge of business and supervisory principles involved in strategic planning and

coordination of people and resources.

  • Knowledge of the practical application of computer technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution

and solve problems.

  • Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in non-technical language.
