Systems Integration & Test Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support the integration, verification, validation, and testing of complex hardware and software systems. This role is responsible for developing and executing test solutions, troubleshooting system-level issues, and ensuring successful integration of subsystems and complete systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in LabVIEW , NI TestStand , system-level testing, and hardware/software integration, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, implement, and maintain integration and test solutions for hardware and software systems.
- Integrate and validate in-house developed, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) components and subsystems.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, schedules, and work instructions based on system requirements and customer needs.
- Analyze system requirements and derive test requirements to ensure complete test coverage and traceability.
- Develop and maintain automated test software using LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, interface, instrumentation, and system-level integration issues.
- Perform verification, validation, and regression testing activities.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports documenting system performance and compliance.
- Generate discrepancy reports, track issues, and validate corrective actions.
- Coordinate testing activities with engineering teams, program teams, and external stakeholders.
- Support milestone-driven projects while balancing multiple priorities and deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation, status reports, engineering presentations, and system evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 years of experience developing and maintaining software applications using LabVIEW.
- 3 years of experience developing and maintaining automated test applications using NI TestStand.
- 5 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office products for technical reporting, project planning, and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working effectively within collaborative engineering teams.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction while delivering high-quality results.
- Experience leading technical efforts and supporting team milestone completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- 9 years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience designing and implementing methods for measuring electrical parameters at the component and subsystem level.
- 5 years of experience with RF (Radio Frequency) and/or Microwave systems and subsystems.
- Experience developing complex automated test programs within NI TestStand environments.
- Experience researching, specifying, and selecting test equipment and instrumentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, instrumentation, fixtures, and units under test.
- Experience creating:
- Block diagrams
- Assembly drawings
- Parts listsEngineering documentation
- Knowledge of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and implementation.
- Experience deriving test requirements from system or design-level requirements.
- Ability to identify and document hardware-to-drawing discrepancies.
- Strong presentation skills with experience communicating technical findings, trade studies, and engineering recommendations.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines and organizations.
