Job summary

Solid Power, Inc. seeks a Synthesis Slurry Intern to join our team of engineers and scientists advancing all solid-state rechargeable batteries. The role offers hands-on experience with electrochemical, physical and chemical characterization alongside engineers.

15-20 hours per week during fall semester; must be pursuing Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field. Safety first: proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials required.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Chemistry, Materials Science, or related degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Experience in material characterization techniques including rheology, DSC/TGA/SDT, XRD, FTIR, EIS.
  • Experience in synthetic and/or analytic chemistry.
  • Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and under the direction of Engineers to execute planned experimentation aimed at optimizing current synthetic and process routes for sulfide solid state electrolytes.
  • Assist Engineers in material characterization, data acquisition, and analysis.
  • Perform regular and required housekeeping.
  • Handling and proper disposal of hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Communicate experimental results to a broad audience and participate in experimental brainstorming and planning.
