Job summary

Fitchburg High School in Fitchburg, MA seeks a Play Director for SY 26-27 to lead the high school's fall play as a Level Three (3) stipend position.

The role includes selecting the play, directing performances, supervising cast and crew, organizing auditions, rehearsals, publicity, and handling technical aspects such as lighting, makeup, sets, and sound. This is an internal posting for current FPS employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theatre education.
• Related experience as a director or assistant is preferred

Responsibilities

• Produce and direct three performances of one play at the high school.
• Select play, handle contracts, secure license, and prepare scripts.
• Provide instruction in all aspects of theater arts.
• Conduct auditions, schedule rehearsals, and attend rehearsals.
• Supervise the cast and crew of the production.
• Arrange publicity, printing, and ticket sales.
• Direct and delegate all technical aspects (lighting, makeup, sets, sound, music).
