Mission

Conservatory Lab empowers children as scholars, artists, and leaders through rigorous academics and music education, enriching the community via performance, service, and collaboration. As a laboratory school, we develop innovative educational approaches to benefit other schools and programs.

Role Overview

We seek passionate individuals motivated to support students' full potential. The ideal candidate collaborates with teachers to plan and implement learning experiences supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and physical development. The role involves supporting school culture, professional development, and coaching. Instructional support assistants work with lead teachers to provide instructional and social-emotional support, with ongoing professional development every Wednesday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with lead teachers to create optimal learning environments.
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans and reinforcing lessons through one-on-one or small group instruction.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and routines.
  • Support record-keeping and progress monitoring.
  • Lead small group and individual interventions based on research-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with special educators to support accommodations.
  • Communicate with families and participate in meetings.
  • Support students' transitions and classroom maintenance.
  • Assist with administrative duties like arrival/dismissal, lunch, and recess supervision.
  • Reflect on performance and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Substitute as needed during meetings and professional development.
  • Perform other duties to ensure a safe, supportive environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

Job Requirements
  • Required: 2 years of college, experience with children, teamwork, confidentiality, strong communication skills, flexibility in a demanding environment.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree, background in early childhood, elementary, ESL, or special education, bilingual in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
