Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
- Deliver standards-based, curriculum-aligned lessons that prepare students to meet or exceed standards.
- Adapt and build upon existing curriculum to create engaging lessons.
- Develop data-driven small group interventions.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure alignment with academic vision.
- Communicate proactively with families about student progress.
Classroom Culture & Management
- Establish high standards of behavior for an optimal learning environment.
- Build positive relationships and implement restorative practices.
- Create an attractive, functional classroom environment.
- Deliver social-emotional learning lessons using the Morning Meeting SEL block.
- Promote school culture policies, including JAGUAR Values and Behavior Matrix.
Assessment
- Administer various assessments to monitor progress.
- Use data to inform instruction and interventions.
- Evaluate student growth, maintain records, and communicate with families.
Professional Growth & Responsibilities
- Engage actively in professional development and coaching.
- Communicate constructively with peers and supervisors.
- Supervise students during out-of-class activities.
- Complete reports timely and participate in family engagement events.
Qualifications
- BA or BS required; graduate coursework preferred.
- 2-3 years teaching experience preferred.
- Relevant Massachusetts teaching certification.
- Sheltered English Immersion endorsement.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Willingness to learn from mistakes and grow.
- Effective communication skills.
