Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2–5 years of related experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical system design, engineering drawings, and testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project management for a spacesuit water membrane evaporator development project.
  • Manage systems, project, test, and logistics engineering activities.
  • Lead the project team and activities to meet objectives.
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support.
  • Monitor cost performance against the plan and develop financial reports.
  • Develop and manage the project schedule and risk processes.
  • Interface with NASA personnel, inter-organizational disciplines, and vendors.
  • Ensure technical and performance goals are met in coordination with the lead systems engineer.

We have an exciting opportunity for aSWME Project Manager join the

JETSII Contract with Oceaneering, a teammate company!

The Project Manager will:

  • Perform project management for a spacesuit water membrane evaporatordevelopment project
  • Manage the overall efforts related to systems engineering, project engineering, test engineering and logistics engineering
  • Manage the project team and their activities
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support
  • Monitor cost performance for the project against the established plan
  • Develop and maintain financial reports
  • Develop and manage project schedule
  • Oversee the development of procedures, work instructions and process flows
  • Manage project risks and opportunities and ensure that a structured risk and opportunity process is followed
  • Assess how program level changes impact project requirements and execution
  • Interface frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA personnel, and vendors
  • Work with the lead systems engineer to meet technical and performance goals
  • Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Understanding of complex spacesuit,thermal control systems development and operations processes
  • Experience managing and leading engineering projects
  • Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels
  • Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanicalsystem design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, environmental testing, and office software
Requisition Preferences:
  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and twelve (12) years of direct engineering experience, or Ph.D. degrees and nine (9) years direct engineering experience
  • Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
  • Prior experience working in a system development project/program

Essential Functions
Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
