Job summary

SilkRoad in Seymour, CT is seeking a Switchgear Lead to manage hands-on production, lead technicians, and coordinate daily workloads to meet customer deadlines.

You will ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery by organizing materials, workflow, and problem-solving across engineering, purchasing, inventory and production planning. The role requires strong electrical/manufacturing background and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in switchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing.
• Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to organize work and manage multiple production demands.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with production data, metrics, and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support switchgear technicians.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet deadlines.
• Monitor work in progress and adjust priorities as needed.
• Ensure labor, equipment, and materials are used efficiently.
• Maintain safe and organized work environment and enforce safety procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean practices.
