Job summary

Coca-Cola Bottlers (CONA Services) is hiring a Switcher II-CDL to move trailers between docks and yard, supporting inbound and outbound warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. You will inspect trailers for issues and communicate findings to maintenance.

This role may lift up to 75 lbs, operate a forklift, and requires adapting to weather and noisy conditions. High school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of experience are preferred; PIT certification is a plus and scheduling is flexible.

Qualifications

Job Overview

The Switcher II-CDL is responsible for the transport of full and empty trailers between the docks and the designated drop parking locations in the “Trailer Yard” to support the inbound unloading and the outbound loading warehouse operations in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. This position will perform inspections of the trailers for any discovered issues ofmechanical maintenance needs before moving, tagging out any trailers requiring attention, and communicating any discovered issues to warehouse management and, or fleet maintenance. This position may also occasionally be required to operate a forklift and, or other PIT equipment within the warehouse.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Transportfull and empty trailers between the docks, public roadways, and designated drop parking spaces


• Inspect trailers before transporting to identify issues of mechanical maintenance needs and, or potential safety hazards


• Maintainorganization of the trailer yard to ensure the efficient and safe transportof trailers.


• Maintaincleanliness and safety of work area and warehouse


• Performother tasks including pallet building as determined and requested by management.


• May perform duties other than switching as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Require continuously climbing steps to get in and out of Switcher Tractor


• Ability to read, write, and use a radio.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.


• Ability to lift, up to 75 lbs.


• Ability to collaborate within a team environment


• Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.


• Ability to adapt to needs of role in different work areas throughout the workday and meet minimum expectations of those different work areas


• Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.

• Ability to work while exposed to the elements and in a noisy and non-climate controlled (hot in summer, cold in winter) environment.

• Flexibility in Scheduling is required as work hours are subject to change based on business demands

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED


• Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification includingPallet Jack, Forklift, Double Forklift, and Switch Tractor.

Noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment (Hot in summer/Cold in winter).
