Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Switcher Driver I at our Jessup Fulfillment Center to support transportation and FC operations. You will drive, back up Switcher Driver II, and assist in inbound/outbound tasks while coordinating with Chewy carriers and vendors to ensure efficient, accurate customer deliveries.

Responsibilities include prioritizing tasks with teams, labeling and loading trailers, performing yard spot checks, and maintaining safe operation of switcher units, including inspections and reporting.

Qualifications

• Safety-driven mentality.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass proficiency tests.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize tasks with transportation and operations teams.
• Label, replenish, box making, load/unload trailers.
• Fulfill and organize orders for efficient customer delivery.
• Perform outbound/inbound operational tasks as needed.
• Spot-check yard and report on equipment.
• Operate switcher unit for at least 5 hours in a 30-day window.
• Ensure switcher equipment passes pre/post-trip inspections.
