Job summary

ADUSA Distribution in York, PA is seeking a skilled yard switcher to safely move trailers for loading and unloading across departments. The role requires adherence to DOT safety standards, accurate record keeping, and the potential need for a Class A CDL, as well as being at least 21 years old with a clean driving record.

You will coordinate with YMS to dock trailers, handle salvage returns, maintain temperature logs for reefers, and perform yard audits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards: safety, accuracy, productivity.
• Maintain temperature logs for reefers on the yard.
• Maintain running list of common carrier trailers moved into doors.
• Complete yard audits using handheld computers.

Primary Purpose

As a switcher, it will be your responsibility to safely move trailers as needed for loading or unloading of grocery, perishables, and salvage in a timely and efficient manner.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Move trailers into appropriate dock doors for loading and unloading of product for various departments
• Move trailers into appropriate dock door for unloading of salvage product returning from retail stores
• Move trailers as directed by YMS to any and all other locations (where applicable)
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in maintaining accurate temperature log for all running reefers on the yard
• Maintain running list of all common carrier trailers moved into doors during shifts
• Complete yard audits within YMS using hand held computers (where applicable)

Qualifications

• Some facilities may require a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Some facilities may require you to be at least 21 years of age
• Some facilities may require a clean driving record with 3 years (or 300,000 miles) experience.
• Must be able to meet expected work standards as established accurately and safely.
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass D.O.T. physical and drug screen at facilities where a CDL is a requirement.
• Work in a -5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for extended periods of time.

• Excellent driving skills
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
