Switchboard Operator - Sanford Medical Center - PT

Work Shift: 8 Hours - Evening Shifts (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20

Salary Range: $15.00 - $23.00

Union Position: No

Department Details: This is a part-time, benefit-eligible position from 11pm-7am with rotating work days. Week one: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; Week two: Friday.

Summary

Operates switchboard console to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office telephone calls. Performs various communication functions and other duties such as managing the pocket pager system and special needs phones.

Job Description

Operates on-call schedule for appropriate areas. Monitors security and alarm panels, coordinates and initiates emergency calls and codes to the appropriate teams. Reports malfunctioning equipment. May monitor, sort, and deliver incoming mail. Communicates effectively with all age groups when answering the switchboard. Must be tactful, persistent, patient, and calm. Needs to make quick decisions and remain emotionally stable during crises. Must have a clear, pleasant voice, normal eyesight and hearing, legible handwriting, intermediate keyboarding and computer skills, and accuracy. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least one year of applicable experience required. Two years of customer service experience preferred.
