Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking a Switchboard Operator - Reliever to provide coverage across allocated 24-hour service shifts. Based at The Alfred, you will handle external and internal calls, update medical staff rosters and respond promptly to emergencies.

5 weeks annual leave and ADOs are included in benefits. Ideal candidates will have clerical and switchboard experience within a hospital setting and demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills to support a busy health information

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate or Victorian Certificate of Education completed.
• Previous clerical and switchboard experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
• Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and support to the Switchboard team during planned and unplanned leave across allocated 24-hour service shifts.
• Answer external and internal calls promptly and professionally; update medical staff rosters as needed; handle emergency calls when required.

Switchboard Operator - Reliever

• Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight with ADO
• Leave coverage - weekdays, weekends, overnight, Public Holidays & Team Leader
• Managers and Administrative Worker Grade 1 (HS1)
• 5 Weeks annual leave + 13 ADO's

The Department

Health Information Services provides a range of functions including VAED reporting, medical record management and clinical information requests, Switchboard and enquiries services.

The Role

The successful applicant will provide coverage and support to the Switchboard team in the Team Leader’s absence, while also provide coverage and support for all planned and unplanned leave across allocated 24-hour service shifts

The successful applicant will be responsible for handling telephone calls from external and internal customers, whilst ensuring that all calls are answered in a timely fashion. This position also includes updating changes to medical staff rosters and dealing with emergency calls promptly.

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Higher School Certificate/Victorian Certificate of Education
• Previous clerical and switchboard experience, preferably in a hospital environment
• Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
