Job summary

Talentify in Hyannis, MA is seeking a dedicated customer service dispatcher to direct calls accurately to the right departments with a positive tone. The role requires handling emergency calls quickly in a fast-paced environment and routing incidents for Police, Fire, EMS, and alarms.

You will manage multiple communication methods—email, phones, pagers, radios, and overhead paging—while maintaining logs and updating the communications database.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Acute hearing and clear spoken English.
• 12 months of experience in a call center or similar role where answering calls is primary.
• Basic PC skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

Job description

1. Provides excellence in Customer Service through efficiently and accurately directing calls to appropriate individuals and departments using a positive and friendly tone.
2. Handles emergency calls in a timely and effective manner in a fast-paced environment.
3. Prioritizes, receives, analyzes and determines proper routing and handling of all calls related to emergencies, including but not limited to, for Police, Fire, Codes for Emergency Medical Personnel, and Alarms.
4. Appropriately manages multiple modes of communication, including but not limited to; e-mail, telephones, pagers, radios and overhead paging.
5. Revises on-call schedules for Clinical and Ancillary Departments.
6. Updates communications database.
7. Maintains STAT log, pager log and key log.
8. Issues and receives communication devices when requested.
9. Control lockset keys as required.
10. Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by manager.

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English

• Acute hearing and demonstrable ability to speak English clearly
• Twelve (12) months experience in a call center, switchboard or where answering phone calls is a primary duty (Secretary, Scheduler, Patient Account Representative, Information Desk Receptionist, Booking Clerk, Food Service Clerk or similar positions).
• Basic PC skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
