Job summary

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
  • 4–8 years experience in UL891 OEM or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk CAD software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns.
  • Follow design life cycle states and design standards.
  • Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD software.
  • Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.
  • Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions.
  • Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis.

Job Summary

The Switchboard Engineer II is responsible for designing low voltage switchboards and panelboards. This role requires great attention to detail with a self-starting mentality. All products must be designed using applicable safety standards and regulations (National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratories, etc.). The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and leading other team members as needed.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns
  • Follow design life cycle states and design standards
  • Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD software
  • Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders
  • Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions
  • Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis
Qualifications / Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 4 - 8 years of professional experience (working for UL891 OEM or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558
  • Experience reading/understanding National Electric Code
  • Experience sizing conductors and OCPDs
  • Experience with control circuits and logic
