Job summary

Siemens – Smart Infrastructure in Pomona, CA is seeking a Switchboard Assembly Operator for the 2nd shift to assemble and wire electromechanical equipment according to blueprints and production schedules. Training on the 1st shift is provided before moving to the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Scan in/out of work orders to track progress as scheduled.
• Read related documents (blueprints, BOMs, diagrams).
• Fasten components to cubicles, frames, subassemblies, or units.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; uphold equipment readiness.
• Stand for 10–12 hour shifts.

Overview: Mechanical/electromechanical assembly role in a modern manufacturing environment. The position supports production by assembling and wiring equipment such as switchboards and lighting panels, following blueprints and production schedules. Training on first shift is provided before transferring to the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and/or modify electromechanical equipment (e.g. switchboards, lighting panels) using mechanical tools and blueprints.
• Process work orders with computers or scanning devices in accordance with the production schedule, including expedited orders.
• Scan in/out of work orders to track progress per schedule.
• Read and interpret related documents (blueprints, bill of materials, one-line diagrams).
• Fasten component parts on cubicles, frames, subassemblies, or unit assemblies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Physical ability to stand for 10–12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull and handle heavy materials
• Ability to stoop, bend, squat, crawl and climb
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Thorough and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to learn all equipment operated in the facility and follow established processes
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience reading blueprints
• Experience with large industrial machines

Pay, Schedule & Benefits

Pay rate: $19.98 per hour, plus a $0.40 shift differential. The actual wage may vary based on budget, candidate experience, skills, and location. 2nd shift hours: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM. 3 months of training on 1st shift.
