Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (DRE) with strong experience in switch design and electromechanical components within the automotive domain. You will own end-to-end development of electrical switches and switch modules, from concept through production launch.

You will lead hardware design, develop specifications with cross-functional teams, manage supplier deliverables, and drive DV/PV plans while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electromechanical components, with a focus on switch design.
• Experience across full product lifecycle: design, validation, and launch.
• Strong expertise in HMI systems, switches, and electromechanical components.
• Knowledge of diagnostics, DTCs, and fault handling.
• Experience with CAE tools or simulation environments.
• Strong understanding of CMF and industrial design integration.
• Experience with switch haptics and mechanical design.
• Proven supplier management experience (Tier 1 and beyond).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical hardware design and release of switches and switch modules (concept to production launch).
• Develop technical specifications with cross-functional teams (design, purchasing, finance).
• Manage supplier deliverables ensuring cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Define and execute design verification and validation (DV/PV) plans with supplier.
• Ensure issues are resolved before program sign-off milestone.
• Define electrical interfaces aligned with vehicle EE architecture, power distribution, grounding, diagnostics, and network requirements.
• Collaborate with software/system teams on logic, diagnostics, and fault handling.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvements focused on customer/consumer experience.
• Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering and design teams.
