Job summary

EXALTA seeks a skilled Swiss Setup Machinist in Kenosha, WI, to setup, adjust, and run Swiss CNC machines. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerances to produce high-precision medical components.

The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of Swiss machining setup experience, familiarity with Citizen or Star machines, and strong quality-mindedness in an ISO/FDA-regulated environment. This is a second-shift onsite role with 15% shift differential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Swiss machining setup experience.
• Experience with Citizen or Star Swiss CNC machines preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• ISO and/or FDA-regulated environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss CNC machines.
• Perform tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Work with standard and metric dimensions and tight tolerances.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure quality.
• Review and interpret CMM inspection reports.
• Complete production documentation and ERP transactions accurately.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3PM-1:30AM (Monday-Thursday) | 15% Shift Differential

What You'll Do

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss CNC machines
• Perform tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Work with standard and metric measurements and tight tolerances
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met
• Review and interpret CMM inspection reports
• Complete production documentation and ERP transactions accurately
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Meet safety, quality, and production goals

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of Swiss machining setup experience
• Experience with Citizen and/or Star Swiss CNC machines preferred
• Job shop manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Ability to work with both standard and metric dimensions
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers
• Ability to read and understand CMM reports
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
• Experience in an ISO and/or FDA-regulated environment is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Temperature-controlled manufacturing facility
• Exposure to machinery, coolants, and machining oils
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive movement
