Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search is seeking a CNC Machinist for Swiss-style and multi-task turning in Indianapolis. Direct-hire opening, day shift 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with some flexibility. Work supports aerospace, medical device, and firearms sectors.

You will build and refine CNC programs, set up tooling and workholding, diagnose issues, and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment running. Strong CAM and GD&T skills are required.

Qualifications

• A couple of years or more setting up and programming Swiss-style turning equipment.
• Comfortable with a computer, ERP systems and standard office software.
• Hands-on experience with CAM packages (Esprit, Fusion, Mastercam or CAMWorks).
• Ability to read part prints, CAD files and GD&T callouts.
• Experience working under formal quality and safety programs.
• Two-year machining degree or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine CNC programs using CAM software.
• Handle machine setup from tooling to workholding and offsets.
• Diagnose issues, tool wear, and programming glitches; involve maintenance as needed.
• Perform routine upkeep and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain safe work practices around tools, coolant, and heavy stock.
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Keep supervisors informed on job status and output.
