Job description

Position: Swiss CNC Machine Setup Operator

Company: Nolte Precise Manufacturing, Inc.

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Primary Job Duties

1. Maintain acceptable setup standards (i.e., time and quality).
2. Provide cycle time and job layout corrections.
3. Run production to productivity and quality standards.
4. Transfer and/or download programs to CNC machine control.
5. Follow layout to properly arrange and set cutting tools to be used.
6. Install work holding devices, part ejectors, and other necessary accessories as specified.
7. Instruct operators or other workers in machine setup and operation.
8. Set up machines for other workers.
9. Complete daily maintenance and adhere to 5S standards.
10. Communicate work status effectively.
11. Follow policies, procedures, vision, values, principles, and philosophies.
12. Maintain acceptable attendance.
13. Perform any specifically assigned tasks.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

1. Proven track record in operation and setup of CNC machines.
2. Ability to adjust tools, machine components, and verify accuracy of machine capabilities and materials.
3. Proficiency with tools, equipment, and work aids, such as precision gauges and measuring instruments.
4. Decision-making skills based on logic, experience, and training.
5. Ability to gather information on job processes and report process improvements.
6. Shop math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages).
7. Advanced blueprint reading skills, including GD&T.
8. Technical school certificate/degree preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including bending, twisting, crouching, etc.
• Ability to stand for a 10-hour shift.
• Ability to work with oils/coolants.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment.
