Job summary

FSIoffice in Raleigh, NC seeks a Delivery Driver to be the last contact with customers on every order delivered by company vehicle. Ensure accuracy of pick tickets and customer satisfaction through professional service.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, vehicle checks, and communicating with customers; physical work with lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexible hours with overtime on short notice, and strict adherence to DOT procedures.

Qualifications

• Normal hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flexibility is required.
• Overtime will be on short notice.
• Good eyesight for matching products.
• Good hearing for listening to customers in a potentially noisy environment.
• Extensive customer contact.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds, consistently over the course of the day.
• Good mobility needed to get in and out of the truck, consistently over the day.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery vehicle when needed and load/unload products as required.
• Match paperwork tickets to the material pulled for each order assigned to your route.
• Load vehicle daily with various products; items may range from 1 lb to 150 lbs (over 150 lbs may require two or more people).
• Load truck so deliveries align with the delivery schedule while protecting product and vehicle from damage.
• Communicate effectively with all customers.
• Keep vehicle clean from debris and trash inside the vehicle.
• Perform a daily DOT inspection of the vehicle; complete appropriate forms and notify Ops Manager of outstanding issues.
• Fill assigned vehicle with gas at the most efficient time using designated stations.

This position serves as FSIoffice’s last contact with our customers on every order we ship via a company vehicle. Therefore it is our final opportunity to make sure each and every customer is satisfied with our outstanding service commitment. The delivery driver is the company’s last chance to make sure that the pick ticket corresponds with the material pulled for delivery to the customer. The critical nature of this position requires that these responsibilities be performed in an extremely professional manner and with strict attention to detail. All tasks related to the job will be accomplished in accordance with company business practices and in the professional manner required to maintain a solid business relationship with our valued customers.

Specific Responsibilities:

Delivery Tasks:

• Drive delivery vehicle when needed. Continuous entry and exit of the truck cab, as well as the back of the truck, throughout the day.
• Match paperwork tickets to the material pulled for each and every order assigned to your route
• Load vehicle on a daily basis, with various product. Weight of product could range between 1lb - 150 lbs; anything over 150 lbs will usually require 2 or more people to work together.
• Load truck so that deliveries are accessible in conjunction with delivery schedule while protecting product and vehicle from damage.
• Communicate effectively with all customers.

Truck Inspection:

• Keep vehicle clean from debris and trash inside the vehicle
• Perform a daily DOT inspection of the vehicle
• Properly complete appropriate forms, indicating any outstanding issues
• Immediately notify Ops Manager of any outstanding issues.
• Fill assigned vehicle with gas at the most efficient time, using designated filling stations as much as possible
