Powder Coating Systems in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Swing Shift Sand Blaster to operate sandblasting equipment and prepare parts by removing coatings. The role is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and starts at $18–$21 per hour.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have reliable transportation to commute daily, and be able to read, write and understand English. I-9 documentation must be provided within the first two days of employment; forklift experience

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to remove the outer surface of customer parts.
• Wear protective hood, hearing protection, long sleeves, and steel/composite toe footwear while in the booth.
• Complete OSHA respirator questionnaire and possibly a respirator physical prior to starting in the booth.
• Position is physically demanding, requiring standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Self-starting and able to work independently for long periods in the booth.

Powder Coating Systems is currently seeking to hire a Swing Shift Sand Blaster. This position starts at $18-21 per hour.

This is a full-time position. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 1:00PM to 9:30 PM.

Sand Blasters are responsible for using our sandblasting equipment to remove the outer surface of our customer's parts. Because of safety concerns, Sandblasters are required to wear a protective hood while operating the booth to protect them from the debris as well as provide air. They are also required to wear hearing protection, long sleeves regardless of the weather and steel/composite toe footwear. Sand Blasters are also required, upon hire, to complete an OSHA respirator questionnaire and possibly have a respirator physical prior to starting in the booth.

This position is a heavily physical position, requiring standing, stooping, bending and lifting parts up to fifty pounds.

The best sand blasters are self-starters and are used to working by themselves most of the time due to the nature of the booth.

They should also have a mechanical aptitude and be able to perform basic repairs on the machinery at an operator level.

Requirements

• Applicant needs to be able to repetitively lift up to fifty pounds.
• Employees need to have reliable transportation to commute to Tacoma daily.(We require our teams to be on time on a daily basis. Although there is a Transit stop nearby, it is up to the employee to be on time everyday and have a way home when the shift is over.)
• Employee must be able to read, write and understand English. (Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.)
• Employees must have the necessary documentation to satisfy the I-9 requirement through Immigration. (This requires the originals of documents that A.) Establish identity and B.) Establish the Right to Work in the United States. We are not allowed to use copies for this and this must be done within the first 2 days of employment.)
• If employees are seeking to operate our forklifts, they must have either experience and/or a current driver's license.
