Emergency Veterinary Care Center in Mishawaka is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (Swing Shift) to join our emergency team. You will support veterinarians and technicians, provide high-quality patient care, and help keep the hospital stocked and clean during high‑volume shifts.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, comfort handling animals of all sizes, strong teamwork and communication, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as veterinary assistant preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely handle animals of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary staff with patient handling and restraint.
• Sanitize exam rooms and treatment areas per protocols.
• Maintain hospital equipment and laundry.
• Feed, walk, and care for hospitalized patients.
• Monitor patient comfort and report changes to the medical team.
• Restock supplies in exam rooms and inventory areas.
• Perform basic admin tasks like trash removal and restocking.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Provide empathetic, positive experiences for clients and patients.
