Job summary

Hog Slat LeMars, IA is seeking a Counter Sales Representative with hog farming industry experience and strong customer service skills at our LeMars retail location.

Responsibilities include assisting retail customers in-store and by phone, recommending parts and equipment, promoting Hog Slat products, handling transactions, and supporting inventory management. Local knowledge of the hog industry is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in farming industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern hog operations is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Willing to obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift.
• Familiarity with E‑mail and Microsoft Office in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work with retail customers in-store and over the phone to understand needs.
• Recommend parts and equipment to address customer needs.
• Educate customers on new products and promotions and Hog Slat Grower Select products.
• Operate office equipment, handle cash transactions, and use computer systems.
• Assist with inventory management including unloading stock and cycle counts.
• Join store team in keeping the store clean and orderly.
• Be on time for scheduled hours and participate in training opportunities.
• Continually upgrade industry knowledge.
