Sandy Pine in Nebraska is seeking a Pig Care Technician to perform day-to-day care for animals in the boar stud at our Gene Transfer Center, ensuring health and humane treatment. You will monitor animal health, administer vaccines, collect samples, and maintain comprehensive records while following strict biosecurity protocols.

The role requires ability to work with large animals, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate farm equipment, with a focus on safety and reliability in a multigenerational

Qualifications

• 1+ years of swine production experience preferred.
• 1+ years of livestock experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, odors, dust and loud noise.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health of boars and note behavioral/temperature changes.
• Administer vaccinations and injections as needed; treat minor injuries.
• Collect boar semen and maintain health and production records.
• Follow biosecurity and herd health policies; ensure proper sanitation.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment and maintain buildings and grounds.
• Perform general maintenance and assist with handling deceased animals.
