The City of Shoreview is seeking part-time swimming instructors for the Shoreview Community Center. Shifts include weekend mornings and weekday evenings with a priority on weekday mornings; a mix of group (40 minutes) and private (30 minutes) lessons is offered.
Training is provided, and there is a free Community Center membership. Instructors teach swimming and water safety to all ages, attend training meetings, and may be asked to substitute shifts.

Enjoy working with kids and teaching others? No previous teaching experience is needed. We train all staff on our swimming program teaching methods. We have weekend morning (generally 8:15am-12n) and weekday (4:45pm-8pm) shifts available. We are looking for instructors for all shifts; weeknight availability preferred.
Shoreview employs 20-25 Swimming Instructors, depending on the season, to teach swimming lessons to all ages at the Shoreview Community Center.
Group lessons are 40 minutes and private lessons are 30 minutes. In addition to scheduled lessons, staff must attend training meetings held throughout the year.
Swimming instructor experience preferred but not required. We will train.
Must be at least 15 years old.
Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.

Please Note: We operate a year-round, indoor pool. Applicants that are available to work beyond a single season are given a higher priority for interviews.
Swim instructor training is delivered through a combination of online and in-person training. Employees are compensated at a rate of $11.50 per hour for swim instructor training.
