Overview

Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Swimming Coach. The Head Swimming Coach will be a full-time member of the teaching faculty who provides leadership support to our athletic department, in addition to other coaching duties to be determined.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership support to the athletic department as the Head Swimming Coach.
• Fulfill additional coaching duties as determined.
• Foster good sportsmanship and character in student-athletes.
• Support a positive coaching atmosphere and ensure the safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Support and abide by the athletic policies and rules of the school and the UIL.
• Manage the program budget and supervise activities.
• Fully support a multi-sport athlete program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate teaching area is required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit education is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to relate to and work well with others; excellent writing, speaking and communication skills; strong proficiency with computers and technology.
• Outstanding swimming acumen; strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to interact with athletes, parents, faculty, staff and media.
• High school varsity coaching experience is preferred.
