Job summary

Strake Jesuit College Preparatory is seeking a Head Swimming Coach to join the teaching faculty as a full-time member, providing leadership to the athletic department and coaching duties. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in the teaching area, with a Master’s preferred, and skills in communication, leadership, and technology.

Varsity high school coaching experience is preferred. Applicants should relate well to students, parents, staff and media, and be prepared to manage the program budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate teaching area is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to relate to and work well with others.
• Excellent writing, speaking and communication skills.
• Strong proficiency with computers and technology.
• High school varsity coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fostering good sportsmanship and character in student-athletes.
• Supporting a positive coaching atmosphere.
• Providing for the safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Supporting and abiding by the athletic policies and rules of the school and the UIL.
• Managing the program budget.
• Supervising activities.
• Fully supporting a multi-sport athlete program.
