YMCA of the Roses is seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated Assistant Swim Coach to join our competitive swim program.

Job Description: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Swim Team Assistant Coach creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting safety in accordance with YMCA policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 18
• At least 1 year of coaching experience with similar swim teams
• Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, Lifeguarding and/or Coach's Safety Certification
• USA and YMCA coach certification within 1 month of hire
• State police, child abuse, FBI fingerprint, and mandated reporter clearances
• Complete all required trainings within 1 month of hire

Essential Functions:

• Develop and manage the competitive swimming program aligned with USA Swimming and YMCA standards
• Supervise facilities and ensure proper maintenance and safety
• Maintain records and supervise swimmers to ensure a positive environment
• Attend meets, assist with setup and cleanup, and seek educational opportunities
• Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards and relate to swimmers and parents effectively
• Follow the YMCA philosophy of "Everybody Swims"
• Perform additional duties as assigned
