Job summary

Carol Stream Park District seeks an Assistant Coach for the Dolphins Swim Team at Fountain View Recreation Center. This part-time role runs through the winter season (Sept–Mar) with potential extra hours in summer.

You will develop swimmers' skills, lead daily practices under the Head Coach, ensure safety, and communicate with parents and staff. Prior swim experience is required; coaching experience is preferred but not mandatory; background check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Previous swim experience is required.
• Prior coaching experience is preferred, but not necessary.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact well with children, parents, and coworkers.
• Mature, professional demeanor. Enthusiastic and patient. Organized, responsible, and able to work with minimal direction.
• Must successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve swimming skills of Dolphins Swim Team members.
• Lead daily practices by following the directive of the Head Coach and utilizing lesson plans.
• Implement safety protocol and assist with accident, injuries, and behavior management.
• Promote a positive learning environment.
• Provide regular updates to parents, Head Coach, and Supervisor.
• Assist at swim meet with set-up, line-ups, and coaching.

The Carol Stream Park District is looking for a responsible, independent, and organized individual to work as the Assistant Coach for the Dolphins Swim Team

Salary, Benefits, and Schedule:

• $15.00/hour - $18.00/hour.
• Part-time position (employees do not work more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year).
• The Winter season runs September through March, and additional hours may be available with the summer swim team.
• Complimentary Fitness Center and Coral Cove Water Park membership, two Coyote Crossing Mini Golf passes, recognition awards, and social activities.
