Swim Lessons Instructor (Seasonal)

June 23 – August 23, 2025

Location: Greater Philadelphia Region

Reports to: Operations Associate

Compensation: $23.00/hour

Position Summary

Dive & Thrive is hiring passionate and reliable Swim Lessons Instructors to deliver engaging, safe, and effective swimming instruction to youth and families this summer. This is a seasonal position from June 23 to August 23, 2025 , with potential for future opportunities.

As a Swim Instructor, you’ll play a vital role in shaping students’ water safety skills and confidence in the water. You will report directly to the Operations Associate and work closely with a team of instructors and site supervisors across multiple indoor and outdoor locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach group and/or private swim lessons following Dive & Thrive’s curriculum and safety guidelines
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and fun learning environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and site staff about progress and safety reminders
• Prepare and maintain lesson areas, equipment, and documentation as needed
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies; ensure safety at all times
• Attend all required orientations, trainings, and team check-ins

Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching swim lessons or working with children in aquatic environments
• Strong swimming skills and knowledge of stroke technique and water safety
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Lifeguard certification is a plus but not required
• Reliable transportation to multiple sites in the Greater Philadelphia area
• Friendly, patient, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills
• Must be available for the full duration of the summer season (June 23–August 23)
