Job summary

Elevate Fitness is seeking aWater Swim Instructor to provide safe and engaging aquatic instruction at our Syracuse facility. The role centers on observing swimmers, delivering instruction, and ensuring participant safety in and around the pool.

The position requires strong CPR/First Aid knowledge, willingness to follow established lesson plans, and excellent customer service to members and guests. A Red Cross swim instruction credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Red Cross Certification in swim instruction (or comparable certification).
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Position duties include teaching and supervising water activities as an instructor.
• Ensure the safety of participants through active surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Respond to emergencies with trained CPR and first aid procedures as needed.
• Follow established lesson plans and communicate progress to participants and guardians.
• Uphold customer service standards and provide a positive experience for members.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment and adhere to facility policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
