Salary and Benefits
  • Starting at $15.00/hour for 16-17 year olds.
  • Starting at $16.00/hour for those 18+.

Hours
  • Part-time position (employees do not work more than 1000 hours in a calendar year).
Job Requirements
  • Ability to work independently or with limited direction.
  • Ability to assume responsibilities for successful daily swim lessons, including staffing, safety, customer service, and lesson plans.
  • Create and implement lesson plans appropriate to program level and participant abilities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while performing duties and on park district premises.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuing education.
  • Follow all Carol Stream Park District rules and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons, parents, and staff.
  • Enforce safety rules and promote safety awareness.
  • Support and implement district policies and crisis management plans.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong swimming skills and knowledge of organizing swimming lessons; experience with children preferred.
  • Ability to communicate instructions professionally and enthusiastically.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with the public and staff.
  • Establish positive rapport with participants, parents, and staff.
  • Display emotional maturity and handle difficult situations appropriately.
  • Be detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Minimum age: 16.
