Job summary

City of Plymouth is seeking a Swim Lead to design engaging, safe and inclusive swim lessons at Wayzata East and West Middle School Pools. You’ll create a fun, supportive environment where participants build confidence and learn essential skills through supervised activities.

Flexible shifts up to 29 hours per week, training provided before program dates, with emphasis on teamwork with instructors, lifeguards and recreation staff to deliver high-quality programs.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is required, or must be able to obtain.
• Must demonstrate an interest in and ability to teach children.
• Must demonstrate strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and direct swim activities and program for participants of all ages and skill levels.
• Provide support and assistance to participants and staff as needed to promote a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment.
• Work collaboratively with instructors, lifeguards, recreation staff, and supervisors to ensure safe, engaging and high-quality programs for all participants.
• Follow established staff policies, procedures, safety standards and guidelines, ensuring all staff and participants understand and follow the established policies and procedures.
• Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants

• Flexible shifts with daytime, evening and weekend hours, no more than 29 hours per week.
• Locations: Wayzata East Middle School Pool and Wayzata West Middle School Pool
• Training provided prior to program start dates.
