What You’ll Do as a Swim Instructor

At British Swim School, we don’t just teach swimming—we ignite confidence, build life-saving skills, and make learning FUN! Our team is serious about saving lives, but we have a blast doing it. Think of us as a mix between lifesavers, cheerleaders, and role models all rolled into one!

️ Teaching students (as young as 3 months!) and adults how to swim using our proven, gentle, and engaging methods.

️ Bringing high energy and positivity to every lesson—you’ll be your students' biggest cheerleader!

️ Creating a safe, welcoming environment where kids feel encouraged to learn and grow.

️ Working in the water for your entire shift—this isn’t a dry, on-the-sidelines kind of job!

️ Engaging with families and keeping them updated on their swimmer’s progress.

Who We're Looking For

If you’re energetic, patient, and love working with kids, this role is a perfect match. You don’t need to be an expert swimmer—we’ll train you! A background in any of the following fields translates well to this job:

Camp Counselors & Youth Leaders – If you’ve kept kids entertained and engaged at camp, you’ll thrive in the pool!

Teachers & Early Childhood Educators – Your ability to instruct, encourage, and manage groups is ideal for swim lessons.

Lifeguards & Swim Team Members – Love the water? We’ll teach you how to turn that passion into a life-saving career!

Sports Coaches & Fitness Instructors – If you enjoy motivating others and breaking down skills, this is for you.

Babysitters & Nannies – Your experience in keeping kids safe and engaged makes you a natural fit.

Customer Service & Hospitality Workers (Retail, Restaurant, Front Desk, etc.) – You know how to create a friendly, positive experience in fast-paced environments.

Performers, Dancers, & Entertainers – If you can captivate an audience, you can make swim lessons exciting and engaging!

High school diploma (or in progress) – No degree required!

Able to be on your feet in the pool for 4 hours at a time and occasionally assist in lifting kids.

️ Bonus points if you have: Experience working with children or Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (but not required).
