Job summary

Seattle YMCA is seeking outgoing Swim Instructors who enjoy teaching children and adults, helping them achieve goals and preparing them for future success. You will teach water acclimation, safety, movement, stamina, and stroke development, with thousands taught yearly.

The role is on-site at the Seattle YMCA, offering benefits and opportunities to facilitate certifications if needed. You will work with a team that serves the community and emphasizes safety and growth for participants.

Qualifications

• Current swim instruction certification from a recognized organization (e.g. Y-USA).
• Ability to supervise and teach children and adults in a lesson setting.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to YMCA policies.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool and surrounding areas.
• Develops positive relationships with participants and parents.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Follows all YMCA policies and emergency procedures; completes reports as needed.
• Organizes class equipment and reports damaged items.
• communicates program information to members and refers to Total Health programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
