Description

As a FOSS Swim Instructor (also known as Swim Teacher), you will create memorable experiences for children of all ages by teaching life-saving swim skills in a fun, safe environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Have a passion for water? Share your love of swimming with your community. FOSS provides training to confidently teach our Swim Path curriculum, leading students in a structured yet fun water environment to develop skills that foster confidence and safety around water. Our Learn to Swim program allows instruction across various ages and skill levels, emphasizing improvisation, play, and connection, because laughter enhances our teaching.

Job Details:

• Part-time (minimum 12 hours/week)
• Shifts: 3-5 hours, including weekday evenings, weekends (with extra pay), and substitute shifts (with extra pay)

Main Responsibilities

• Manage classes of 1-4 students, teach swim skills following FOSS curriculum, promote safety, and teach life-enriching skills.
• Create a safe, engaging, educational environment similar to daycare settings.
• Interact with parents/guardians about student progress.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Comfortable in a pool environment
• Available at least 12 hours/week
• Positive attitude and energetic
• Good communication skills
• Experience with children preferred
• Aquatic background is a plus but not required
