Job summary

YMC in Stillwater, Oklahoma is seeking a Swim Instructor to help individuals of all ages develop essential swimming skills in a safe and encouraging environment. You will teach according to YMCA standards, promoting water safety and confidence in the water.

As part of the aquatics team, you will create lesson plans, monitor progress, and communicate with families and teammates, with ongoing training and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
• Must be 16 years of age and able to teach swimming.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons for participants of varying ages and skill levels.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with YMCA standards and safety protocols.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to improve skills.
• Enforce safety rules to maintain a safe swimming environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and team members.
• Promote water safety and YMCA programs to participants and families.
