Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA seeks enthusiastic Swim Instructors or Aides to teach children and help them grow in a safe, supportive aquatic setting. You’ll develop communication and leadership skills while guiding young swimmers through lessons and water-safety practices.

Applicants should be 15+ with a passion for working with kids; CPR certification (ARC) is required, and you’ll complete an in-water skills assessment. Join a nonprofit team dedicated to strengthening the community.

Qualifications

• Age 15+.
• Experience with kids and passion for teaching children to swim.
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents.
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
