Compensation and Benefits
Competitive pay based on experience ($17.00 - $20.00 per hour) with possible bonus opportunities. Other benefits may include paid training, internal advancement opportunities, birthday off and paid, potential annual PTO and medical benefits, and free gym membership.
The Position
At British Swim School we teach fun, life‑saving swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old. We emphasize a gentle, progressive program that makes learning enjoyable while ensuring water safety.
Typical Responsibilities
- Report directly to and support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
- Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3 pm–7 pm), weekends (8 am–1 pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
- Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
- Enthusiastic personality.
- Comfortable in and around the water; strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught.
- Must maintain certifications throughout employment.
- Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics‑specific training and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- Swimming experience: 1–2 years preferred but not required.
- Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
- Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (can be obtained during training).
