Job summary

Life Time Inc. is looking for an Aquatics Swim Instructor in Gainesville, Virginia. You will be responsible for teaching swimming to both adults and children, maintaining a clean pool area, and ensuring safety during all Aquatics events.

This role requires communication skills, a commitment to promoting Aquatics services, and an ability to create a positive environment for our members. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour, with additional benefits available.

Qualifications

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift and move about the club for prolonged periods.
• Ability to bend and lift weights as required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons and Aquatics events.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Respond to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provide a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promote and sell all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

• Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20 lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $15.00 and pays up to $18.75, based on experience and qualifications.
