Position Overview

The Powhatan YMCA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool. This part-time position starts at $14.00 per hour.

Duties of Swim Instructors

Swim instructors should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills. They should be able to work various shifts with different age groups. Using diverse tools and teaching techniques, instructors will work with small groups, teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and promoting YMCA core values.

Qualifications for Swim Instructors

Must have current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Preferred but not required are YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, Ellis, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, or WSI certifications. Certification can be provided if not currently held.
