PAY RATE: $12.00/hr

The Swim Instructor is responsible for ensuring safety in and around the pool area and providing high-quality swimming instruction following YMCA Aquatic Program guidelines. To succeed, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm and motivate students to achieve their swimming goals. An effective swim instructor communicates well with students and ensures all water safety rules are followed.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the safety of all participants.
2. Follow YMCA national guidelines for all swim lessons.
3. Evaluate each student's performance, provide feedback, complete attendance, progress, and accident reports, and maintain swimming aids and equipment.
4. Prepare and follow lesson plans for each session.
5. Clean and store teaching equipment properly.
6. Assist lifeguards with emergency situations in the aquatics area.
