Summary:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and teaching learn-to-swim and water safety courses.

Responsibilities:

• Design and instruct group swim lessons, private swim lessons, and assist with the HQ swim team for HQ members and guests.
• Adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants to meet course objectives.
• Record all documentation of classes and attendance according to HQ policies.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of the pool area, including floatation devices, kickboards, and swim platform.
• Follow proper precautions when using equipment and cleaning products.
• Schedule client swim lessons, register participants, and assist with questions regarding the swim program.
• Assist with swim team practices and meets.
• Participate in health fairs and marketing events to promote wellness and aquatic services.
• Investigate concerns/issues and report results and resolutions to the director.
• Report equipment and supply needs to the director promptly.
• Perform additional duties such as assisting with laundry, membership events, and facility tours as assigned.

Other Information

Education Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Professional Experience Requirements: Previous swim instruction experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Relevant skills and abilities as required.
