Job summary

Geauga YMCA in Chardon, OH seeks a Swim Instructor to deliver the YMCA swim curriculum for members and program participants in a safe, welcoming environment. Instructors must be punctual, professional, and capable of communicating with participants and families.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching swimming and applying YMCA curriculum.
• Demonstrated public speaking and customer service skills.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate swim skills and adapt instruction to class level.
• Plan classes, start on time, and maintain proper materials and attire.
• Ensure safety, follow YMCA rules, and monitor participants.
• Communicate with participants' parents and provide feedback.
• Keep pool area clean and assist with substitutions as needed.
• Uphold YMCA values and participate in events and trainings.
