Job Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: Weekday afternoons 3:30-8:30pm; Weekend availability 8am-5pm

Summary: Instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents; perform rescues and administer first aid when necessary.
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork promptly.
• Interact with parents/guardians regarding students’ activity and development.
• Act as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking to address challenges students encounter.
• Inspect pool areas before and after classes for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues; report as needed.
• Ensure proper storage of all pool equipment and manage lane lines.
• Report accidents and incidents, completing all documentation.
• Perform Deck Teacher duties as needed.
• Conduct light cleaning tasks such as window washing, deck mopping, and trash removal.
• Attend mandatory workshops and training outside regular hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: The employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity, with moderate noise levels.
