YMCA of Superior California is seeking a dedicated swim instructor to teach group and private lessons, develop lesson plans, and build positive relationships with members of all ages and abilities while promoting water safety and confidence in the pool. You will follow YMCA guidelines, keep attendance and progress records, coordinate with staff and volunteers, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR/First Aid certifications.
• Demonstrate swim instructor skills and competencies per YMCA standards.
• Active YMCA Swim Instructor certification; available on hire.
• Must be at least 15 years old.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swim lessons as assigned per YMCA guidelines.
• Develops positive relationships with members and participants.
• Encourages involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Keeps attendance and progress records as required.
• Ensures safety of participants with risk-management staff.
• Reports damaged equipment and maintains class setup.
